Renewed patriotic mindset for America
The recent election changed everything. The people voted for change. Gone is the tops down preaching. Solving problems are in. The doers are front and center. Mix motivated people with technology, access, knowledge and money and you get an explosion of opportunities for everyone. The structural power of the country and the ownership by the people will change how we live.
India and Japan anchor the east and west flanks
India becomes the partner the US needs and wants. India has the size and scale to compete on multiple fronts: Manufacturing at scale, Consumption of energy, and defense partner nation. Japan transforms and scales the US alliance. Gone are the insular strategies of defense from WWII. Defensive and dual-use scale are at center stage with the critical support from the US for shipbuilding, quantum, and semiconductors.
Chips go mainstream on the bell curve — chip stocks sink, money shifts to space
US made semiconductors become reality and the catalyst shifts to nuclear energy sources. Those high flying chip stocks sink as money shifts to the space economy. The space economy will exceed $1T in the coming years. The cycle is just starting. The decoupling of the Chinese chips created the motivation needed to solve the self created problem.
All Things Space Heat Up — Space Commercialization and Careers
New supply chains are created with new materials. Communication transforms our ability to predict the future hotspots. Combined partnerships with hardware, AI driven software, and decentralized nodes. Knowledge of all things space becomes the priority for organizations. Training the next generation on the next frontier is where it’s at.
Advanced Manufacturing shines with global alliances — dual-use and defense for the galaxy
Defense spending slows, “innovation” programs get cut as accountability takes center stage. The big five defense contractors try to slow the roll of change by agreeing to partnerships with the next generation of technology companies. Partnerships with the 5 eyes expand beyond intelligence to include advanced manufacturing of dual-use technologies, defense related materials and critical commercial supply chains. The strategy of decentralization solidifies and captures mindshare with private and public sectors.
Africa gains the eyes and ears of the world
By 2040, Africa will have the largest and youngest population on the planet. The race heats up for consumer mindshare, infrastructure projects, critical minerals and new sources of energy. China continues to outpace the US with “strategic” investments into Africa. The US continues to lose mindshare to the power of corruption. The private sectors will need to engage (and be backed) with the US Government in order to win.
South America and Central America refocus
Snakeheads, the Darien GAP and BRI exposed national security risks in the region. The importance of the Panama Canal has already made headlines. The mines of South America highlighted the importance of economic security. A look back in history tells the 100 year marathon narrative with 20/20 vision. 2025 brings a renewed focus on partners, alliances and agreements across the Americas. Maybe dusting off the RIO Treaty is the start. Maybe Argentina and Milei are the starting point for making change. FIU Jack Gordon Institute for Public Policy is leading the way for research and knowledge across the region. No doubt, the Americas play a key role in global leadership. The US will reprioritize the region in 2025 and leverage key resources like South Florida to mobilize good.
